Data Modeler/Data Engineer
Lake Mary, FL
Contract to Hire – 6+ Months
Pay Rate - $40-50/hr (The Rate may be negotiable based on experience, Education, Geographic Location, and other factors)
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Data Modeling: Proven experience in designing relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data models. Familiarity with industry-standard modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, IBM InfoSphere). Database Technologies: Strong expertise in SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase). Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake). Data Engineering: Experience with data pipeline frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Airflow, or similar technologies for batch and real-time data processing. ETL/ELT: Strong experience with ETL tools or custom ETL scripting (Python, Shell, SQL). Backend Development: Proficiency in backend programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, or Go). Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Cloud Platforms: Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and services is a plus. Version Control & CI/CD: Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- A Master’s degree or relevant certifications is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data modeling, data engineering, and backend development, preferably within the banking, financial services, or asset management industries.
- Experience working on large-scale data initiatives and collaborating in an agile development environment is highly desirable.
